Apologies to anyone who’s been following Writewipe. This is still the same place and the same person, but we had a catastrophic internet arse-up and lost all the blog files (and all the website stuff, for the observant). Names and places will return to normal, but I’ve been busy for a minute.

I’ve only gone and written a trilogy. Well, finished. Well, written book 3 anyway. What am I wiffling on about and why is this important to me.

As a kid growing up, all the coolest Sci-Fi and Fantasy writers wrote trilogies: Asimov’s ‘Foundation’, Herbert’s ‘Dune’, Tolkiens ‘Lord of the Rings’, Douglas Adams ‘Hitch-Hikers’. It was such a cool thing to think that someone had created a world that had that much story going on in it. That was so immersive that you wanted to read book 3! And now I’ve gone and finished one. And I’m gonna feel a little bit proud today, the day Darkest comes out, if that’s ok?

Ok, moment over. I now have to deal with the usual problems of, well, my story isn’t finished yet so I’m going to have to ‘do a Douglas Adams’ and have a Book 4 of the trilogy (out next year, for anyone following along!) And wtf do you call Book 4, after you called Book 3 Darkest? Darker-est? More Darkest? Dark-er-est-ish? Answers greatfully received in the comments. Off to celebrate with a small IPA I think.
